“Quartet” features four circles arranged in a square. The color shifts from medium teal at the top to nearly white at the bottom. Each circle contains a rusty washer as well as an assortment of millefiori. A frame of hand-cut reclaimed terracotta surrounds the set of circles.

“Quartet” invokes the many sets of four in the human experience. Grouping and subdividing create a sense of order to help us understand the world. From annual seasons and cardinal directions, to playing card suits and the classical elements of earth, air, fire and water, groups of four are a rich part of our lives.

• Created from smalti, reclaimed terracotta, reclaimed hardware, and millefiori set in tinted mortar

• Installed in a handmade float frame made of reclaimed maple. A wire is installed on the back for easy hanging.

• All our mosaic artwork is created from environmentally sustainable and stable materials.
