The Endangered Native Flowers mosaic series depicts endangered flowers native to our home state of Virginia and the southeastern United States.
Each of these plants is threatened by building encroachment, corresponding wetlands drainage, and poaching.
“Pitcher Plant”
An unusual carnivorous plant that grows in moist and boggy areas. This plant depends on open fields traditionally maintained by fire. The mosaic features an overhead view of a pitcher plant created from hand-cut unglazed porcelain and vitreous glass set in tinted mortar.
“American Chaffseed”
A perennial herb that grows in sandy, coastal areas and depends on open fields maintained by fire or mowing. The mosaic features spare lines in light green and dark maroon created from hand-cut stained glass set in white mortar.
FEATURES:
Each piece measures 11 ½ ”H x 3 ½ ”W x 1”D.
A wire is installed on the back for easy hanging.
All our mosaic artwork is created from reclaimed or environmentally sustainable & stable materials.
