For the month of August, Johannah and Kyle will be showing our latest collection of collaborative forged steel + mosaic wall sculptures, plus a selection of older wall works in mosaic and steel at the Gallery at Westminster Canterbury Blue Ridge in Charlottesville, Va.
Craft + Design is a contemporary show, produced by the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in museum-quality craft. Craft + Design is held in the historic Main Street Station’s train shed and draws more than 10,000 people to shop the work of over 150 artists from all over the country.

We’re so pleased to join our local art studio tour again this year! Tour our working studios, enjoy our native wildflower mini-meadows, and catch a blacksmithing demonstration.
The Arts of Fluvanna tour is a free, self-guided, open-house style event. We are studio number 12 on the tour map.

On First Friday, Brickhouse joins Richmond’s long-standing arts walk featuring galleries and shops throughout the Richmond Arts District.

Now in its 33rd year, the Tephra ICA Arts Festival (formerly the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival) will take place on May 18-19, 2024 at Reston Town Center. Over 200 contemporary artists and artisans will travel from across the country to present original handmade artwork to share with Festival audiences.

We’re pleased to return to Studio #16 in the Charlottesville Cluster at the home and studio of fiber artist Mary Beth Bellah along with functional potter Stuart Howe.
We’re so pleased to join our local art studio tour for the first time in 2023! We’ll have both our studios as well as our gallery open to the public. Natural fiber artist Sandra Hopkins will be joining us with her gorgeous baskets and brooms.

Ginter Park’s annual arts and crafts show returns Saturday, December 3rd. The show will run from 10 am until 5 pm and be held in the Lewis Ginter Recreational Association Center at 3421 Hawthorne Ave.
The Ginter Park Show is in its 18th year of bringing exciting arts and crafts to our neighborhood in early December, just in time to help you find creative and one-of-a-kind gifts in one place so you can quickly tackle your holiday shopping list. This year’s artists and artisans will showcase their work such as watercolors, jewelry, oil paintings, illustrations, candles, scents, assemblages, collage, clothing, chocolates, purses, textiles, lighting fixtures, ceramics, pottery, pressed flower art, whimsical cards, creature peepers, wreaths, and yard art.
As usual, there will be a food truck on the premises offering delicious food when you take a shopping break. Mark your calendar. We hope to see you there!

Craft + Design is a museum-quality show, produced by the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in contemporary craft. Craft + Design kicks off the official holiday shopping season in Richmond, VA where shoppers spend the weekend browsing the works of artists from all over the country.
For regular visitors to Craft + Design, please note the date has been moved up this year.
Launched in the summer of 2021, The Fralin’s Little Museum of Art was inspired by a desire to engage with the community during the museum’s closure and provide an opportunity to highlight the artwork of local and student artists. This miniature museum consists of six galleries, each measuring approximately one foot square, and showcases tiny works on a rotating basis. The Little Museum of Art is located outside on the Cornell Plaza and is on view 24 hours a day.
Johannah is pleased to have work included in the first exhibition of the 2022-23 academic school year. The show features works inspired by The Fralin Museum of Art’s current exhibition, “Joseph Cornell: Enclosing Infinity.” Join us for the opening reception Friday August 26 from 5 to 7 pm, or check out the show any time through September 28.

The Tour will monitor Covid status and protocols. We will follow the CDC guidelines that are current at the time of the event, including, but not limited to, masks required indoors; hand sanitizer provided upon entering each studio; and limits on the number of guests inside at one time.

About the show: ThinkSmall has been a Richmond favorite for both artists and patrons since 2001. The invitational show features artwork in a diverse range of styles and media, all available for sale. What is Craft + Design? Now in its 56th year, Craft + Design showcases the work of contemporary craft artists from across the United States. Shoppers spend the weekend eating, drinking and browsing the work of artists from all over the country. With the health and safety of artists, volunteers, staff and attendees in mind, the events team at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond decided to POSTPONE THE IN-PERSON EVENT until June 4-6, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to the in-person event planned for June 2021, VisArts is hosting Craft + Design Online from November 20-29, 2020. Many of the artists participating in the online event will travel to Richmond to show their work at Craft + Design in June 2021, so Craft + Design Online is a great way to preview the in-person show!

Crozet Artisan Depot presents two concurrent Guest Artist shows during the month of August. The Richmond Craft Mafia's 15th annual holiday show is happening inside and outside Hardywood, on Saturday 12/7 and Sunday 12/8. Early Bird shopping starts on Saturday at 10am for a $5 cash donation to the Richmond Animal Care and Control Foundation. Shop for free both days starting at 11am.

artspace opens the tenth installment of the ever-popular Biennial Miniature International Invitational, ThinkSmall10, on Friday, November 8. 2019 from 6 - 9 pm. The Opening Reception is Free and Open to the Public. ThinkSmall10, showing in all the galleries of artspace, 0 East 4th Street, Richmond, VA, will be open to the public from Friday, November 8, 2019 through Sunday, December 15, 2019.
The ThinkSmall invitational takes place every two years and features artwork in a diverse range of styles and media, all available for purchase. Hundreds of artists eagerly take the challenge to create work that fits within the 3x3x3 inch maximum dimensions. Many of the participating artists are local to the Richmond area, but work is submitted from throughout the region, across the United States and Internationally. Each year the gallery posts an online catalog of the artists with images of their work. Gallery at First UU is the annual fine arts and crafts show at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond. The 53rd edition of Gallery is scheduled for September 18-22, 2019. Admission is free!
Starting in 1966 in the church basement with about 20 artists, Gallery has evolved into Richmond’s longest running juried fine arts and crafts exhibition and sale. Over 4,000 works from over 160 of Virginia’s finest artists are displayed, including oil paintings, watercolors, lithographs, fiber art, lamps, photographs, prints, pottery, sculpture, furniture, jewelry, stained glass, paper, wood, wearable art, weaving, and more!
