Latest Custom Coat Racks

It's that time again! Here are a few of our favorite recent custom mosaic coat racks.

A special request for an all-white mosaic was a fun challenge, and has Johannah wanting to make  more white mosaics.

This brown mosaic was designed around the colors in the client's house. Once she received the piece, the colors and textures of this piece reminded her of her native Australia. That worked out nicely! On the right, we're gluing the mosaic into the frame.

We use a variety of reclaimed woods, depending on what's available. Lately we've been using mostly walnut and heart pine.

This one will be used as a towel bar. The client requested the design based on the mirror on the left. Coming soon, two large matching mirrors to go with this piece!

Forged Bronze Fireplace Tools

Some time ago we created this fire screen as a commission. Recently the couple requested a fireplace tool set to match. This must be our year for fireplace tool sets-- seems like we just finished the last one! This set is waxed steel and bronze to coordinate with the fire screen.

RVA Mosaic Map Prints

It's been a long time coming, but they are finally here! Last summer Johannah created a series of mosaic maps based on images of the Richmond, VA area. We wanted to have them made into art prints, but this was something entirely new to us. So we took our time and did our research, and we couldn't be happier with the results!

The series includes three images: "Now Entering Richmond," "James River in Richmond," and "Historic Downtown." Each one zooms in a little closer on the city of Richmond, the James River, and the roadways and built environment of the city.

The 8"x10" matte prints were created locally from high resolution digital images of the original mosaic maps on 100 lb. paper. Huge thanks to Uptown Color for guiding us through the process!
